Non-urgent advice: Practice Closures

The surgery is closed on all public bank holidays.

We also close for staff training one afternoon a month except, August, December and January - dates will be notified in advance. 

Online triage will also be suspended during this time.

If you require urgent medical assistance when the surgery is closed please call NHS 111.

In an emergency (including if you have chest pain or shortness of breath) please call 999.

How to use A&E Services

Non-urgent advice: NHS 111

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.

You should call 999 in a life-threatening emergency only.

Urgent advice: Enhanced Access Appointments

The surgery works as part of a larger local hub to provide greater access to appointments outside of normal working hours (6:30pm-8pm on weekdays, 9am-5pm on Saturdays).

Please be advised that availability is limited and will be a combination of routine pre-booked and urgent on the day appointments.  If no appointments are available you will be directed to normal out of hours services.

Appointments may be offered at: St Fillans Medical Centre (Thursday evening), Longton Health Centre, Fishergate Hill Surgery, The Beeches Medical Centre, ISSA Medical Centre.
